What is a TekRebel?
TekRebel has numerous meanings and definitions. It's
the dream of one man. It's the never-ending struggle
between life and the real world. It's a philosophy.
It's a way of living. It's every thing I stand for.
It's who I am. It's my life and it will be forever a
part of me. It's my history that's there for the world
to view. I am TekRebel.
How long have you been doing
this?
I created
www.tekrebeldesigns.com
back in February 2000 in the Calpoly dorms. I started
off with a couple sites to get myself familiarized with
HTML, mainly Pokemon sites (that was the "in" thing
back then), while also maintaining a small GeoCities
site. Eventually I moved to Angelfire briefly before
moving to Yahoo! where I would stay for the next 3 years.
Yahoo helped me learn about the internet world and the
ways it worked, but unfortunately TekRebel Designs grew
beyond what their website services could offer. I
currently own a couple different servers and
websites. I began doing company websites and various
other projects to fill in holes and keep me busy. As
of today I've built, designed, programmed, and
maintain over 60 websites and control approximately
55 million hits a year. Not bad from someone who
learned it all from reading a book.
How many hits does this
site bring in?
According to the data I've received from various
programs, although not exactly accurate, this is as
close as its going to get: Since its creation in
2000,
www.tekrebeldesigns.com has brought in
approximately 85 million hits. In its idle state in
2006-2007, my averages for those 2 years were only
2.5 million hits per year. That's with absolutely no
promotion whatsoever but I expect to bring up that
number with our new proposed business plan. I've
been averaging about 1500 new visitors (unique hits)
per month.
