This was
my first full spread 2-page layout. We could do it on
any subject as long as it tied into Calpoly Pomona.
So I decided to do an article on the on-rising TekRebelution
and TekRebel Designs. As my signature I used my self-image
as part of my layout. The background is Calpoly's very
own CLA Building where all university administrations
and records are handled. I included a matrix-like overlay
with a subtle grid-line to give it a more "tekkie" feel.

The World Wide Web is
here to stay and with it's newly advent features in
worldwide communication, global preparation is as simple
as a .com
One may ask "What is
a TekRebel?" It's the new type of "nerd," but with the
style that uses all available resources of teknology
to his or her advantage. the word TekRebel first appeared
in 1999. It was created by webmaster and designer Charles
Eloriaga. He attended California Polytechnic State University:
Pomona (Calpoly for short) as a Graphic Design major
with a minor in Computer Science. With that knowledge
he created and designed a website where TekRebels were
born.
As he attended school,
all previous work he had completed was put into that
website to create a global online portfolio and resume.
But he didn't just stop there. He also added a more
intimate look into his more personal life. With that
a new type of website was created: The personal/business
site. Potential clients and job opportunities coincided
and developed with this new form of site as they saw,
not only skilled professionalism, but personality, ambition
and self-improvement as well.
It began at Calpoly.
Since its creation, TekRebels have grown by the thousands.
What was once a local trend is now more globally recognized
and world renowned. As new site visitors enter the site,
new inspirations and ideas are tangently developing.
Portfolios and resumes are not just local anymore, they
have been globalized to reach out to clients ten minutes
or ten time zones away. With that a new phase in "TekRebelism"
came into play two years ago: The TekRebelution...
What started off at Calpoly
has now become something bigger. now with over 1 million
unique site visitors worldwide and still going, the
Digital Revolution, or as TekRebels see and know it
as, the TekRebelution begins. Not only are Calpoly students
jumping on the bandwagon but so have many more nationwide.
And with Mr. Eloriaga dedicating more time to his ambitious
ideas, we can only expect inevitable worldwide recognition.
Three years have passed
and progress and development was seen as history was
made, TekRebels prepare for the TekRebelution.. so ask
yourself this... Are You TekRebel...
